General Conference Prayer Vigil

We are bathing General Conference in prayer!  General Conference meets every four years and it is the only body that can officially speak for the UMC.  At General Conference, the Book of Discipline and Book of Resolutions is amended, and legislation passed that affects how we do ministry as a church. General Conference will meet May 10-20, 2016 in Portland, Oregon.  The UMC is devoting 131 days to praying for General Conference, and every Annual Conference has been given a day to hold a prayer vigil.   The day for Arkansas is April 5th.  Salem UMC has committed to praying for General Conference on April 5th from 11:45 am – 12:00 PM.  Please join us for these 15 minutes to pray for the very important work that General Conference does as it will impact the future of our denomination.  You may pray wherever you are at during that time.  For more information on praying for General Conference visit 60daysofprayer.org
